Teresa - We Have BABIES

Of course I would have called you if they were alpaca babies.  But aren't you excited that Henrietta and Quackers have ten little ducklings (4 eggs didn't hatch).  Henrietta kept herself between the camera and the ducklings but Fred and I managed these shots.

Congrats on becoming a Grandma!!

Ummmm, I think a few of those duckings came from somewhere other than Quackers . . . Has Henrietta been stepping out on him?

I wondered about that, too! :-)

Blue Swedish Ducks
Henrietta is a Blue Swedish in blue, Quackers is a Blue Swedish in Black, sometimes called a Black Swedish. The third color (what those cute yellow ducklings will grow up to be) is Splash or mainly white. Breeders use a Splash plus a Black which produces 100% blue ducklings. Then they breed Black to Black and Splash to Splash for the next generation of breeders. Because a blue mated to a blue give 50% blue, 25% black, and 25% splash.

So the 2 dark ones will look like Quackers, the greyish ones will look like mom and the yellow ones will be white withe bits of color.

Free to a good home or $5 each.

I'm sure glad there won't be a test on this Monday :-)

Thanks so much for the explanation! It amazes me how this was all figured out! Good luck on finding homes!
