A Walk on the Beach
Our room's front porch (the ground level room), a coconut and a bit of driftwood. Any day you can take pics like that on a walk is a good day.

Mojito with a view
Went to the end of the world today, past the end of civilization. Pics of that later and it was fantastic. This is my current view with a mojito in hand and the music of the crashing waves. I am happy.
And the storm . . .
came rolling in but it was brief and the show went on. It was above and beyond all that came before it. It was unbelievably fantastic and I am a complete My Morning Jacket fan forevermore. Now we move south and we will be off the grid for the next few days . . . No wifi, no cell, no nothing.

Not a lot
of progress on those socks, but the sun and sand and heat are distracting me. Sure am happy to be here instead of Atlanta . . .

On its way . . .
To Dena.
Because she needs a hug and this is the best way I can send one.
Purple is her favorite color.
Honestly, the yarn was extra from Mom's Triqueta Cape that I made her for her Birthday.
The original yarn for that cape was a gray Llama and silk blend but I changed what I wanted to make and so had to trade the yarn and increase the quantity. I increased it a bit too much and had a bunch leftover. Since Dena loves purple, I had offered her the yarn. She loved this pattern, so here is her Semele - made with love, by me. It was a delight to knit but make no mistake, this is substantial - about 8 feet long, in fact.
Wrap yourself in a hug from me Dena - and know that I love you.

Sound check
It just sort of happened . . . We heard the music and walked over to the stage where we found My Morning Jacket playing a few really good songs. Then last night Bob Wier joined them for a few really great songs. Good concert and great place to have it.

Socks on a plane . . .
Started these on an airplane header somewhere warm. It was about sixteen degrees when I woke up Saturday morning. That is too cold for Atlanta. I am much warmer now . . .

A Gargoyle
This was half the kit from the Miss Bab's Travel Tour club for December.
The other half is mittens which I haven't knit yet.
This was super quick - took me four evenings and wouldn't have taken that long if I hadn't gotten the creeping crud. It was also a terrific fun knit.
I thought it was going to be mine, but someone claimed it before I could even take photos . . .
I probably wouldn't have worn it anyway -
I tend not to do scarves, hats or even coats if I can avoid it.
Next - mittens!

Theodosia
This has been on the needles since the beginning of November due to issues beyond my control.
I think it turned into an absolutely lovely shawl.
My photography didn't come close to capturing the gorgeousness that is this color of yarn, but trust me it is absolutely fantastic. I can't remember the name of the colorway either, so can't get more. I'm hoping the yarn company will tell me what they sent me when they get the shawl back.
The pattern is Theodosia and the yarn is Cephalopod Yarn's Skinny Bugga - which is delightful to knit (has some cashmere content and you can feel it).

Next in line
This is one of the things on my needles right now. It is the New Year's Pi Shawl by Donna Druchunas - a knit along happening right now on Ravelry (started Jan 1 and hopefully finished on Pi day). The yarn is Cosmic by Miss Babs in the Galapagos color which was a tour exclusive but should be available this month, I think.
I know I still owe pics of Dena's present . . . It has been too cold to take them and tomorrow it is supposed to rain, but I will try for Sunday.
