They did What?!?! (Or It's ok Dad, we are fine.)

First we got the equipment (and had to figure out how to put it on, more difficult than you would think. Then we had to pose for pictures and make it look like we knew what we were doing.

So excited to try this . . . having fun and very happy!

First run down the bottom of the bunny slope and everyone survived!

And hey! That was pretty much fun!

Lets do it again (and again, and again, and again).

Snowboarding is not quite so easy . . . it's harder to figure out the equipment and harder to stay upright when your feet are bound in place.

A gratutious Jon's butt photo - remember last visit? look here

You start snowboarding on your butt, so it's a colder sport than skiing.

And sometimes you are up . . .

But very often you are down.

S and Mike on the lift, going up for another run . . .

Lookin' good!

And what do you think the grownups did while the kids played . . .

Road Trip

Way up high into the mountiains . . .

It was kind of a long drive - an hour to Boise

then another hour to go the 16.5 miles up the mountains to the ski lodge.

Warm and clear in the valley . . .

but cold and snowy at the top.

Are we having fun?

Um yeah, I think we are having fun . . .

The poor dogs tho . . . their feet almost never touch the floor.

Sonqo, Polo, Cielito and Encanto

Meet the Handsome Boys! First we have Sonqo (white) and then Polo (fawn). Then we have Encanto (fawn) and Cielito (white). The first three are shorter and younger.

Here are the three younguns together with Cielito in the back at the fence - from left to right in the first picture are Polo, Sonqo and Encanto (with the red necklace). In the second picture its Sonqo in the front, Encanto (again with red necklace) with head up on the right and Polo, not showing as well on the left.

This is Miss S feeding Cielito. He really likes being hand fed. They all like the treats and will take them right from your hand with their soft little noses and lips.
At one point, they all noticed that Miss M had the bucket of treats. They thought for just a few minutes, conferred with each other and then decided that she was small and probably couldn't run fast . . . so, in the last photo, they chased her down till they got the whole bucket!!!

Hollins University!

These are pictures from our day at Hollins University. I'm afraid that we'll have to tell you about them when we get there because if I don't get packing, we won't get there. Maybe later I can add the details to the blog for the rest of the world . . . .

Those Rolling Hills of Virginia

You get very little desrcription today because we still have to pack for the flight in a little while. First two pics are in southern Virginia - about an hour from Roanoke - just a cow pasture near where we stopped for gas. The girls were thrilled with the snow - M sat on a pile of it!

This is just an assortment of pics taken from the Blue Ridge Parkway running near Roanoke. See Fred, some mountains are not nekkid! Spring was not nearly as far sprung as it was when we were there last year at exactly the same time.

Spring?

It's so much later than usual this year, but I think Spring is actually trying to come. Of course, it's supposed to snow again tomorrow. Almost 60 degrees today and snow and freezing rain tomorrow, you just gotta love this crazy weather! Here are the first crocus of the year and the daphne more than a month behind when it usually blooms. It's gonna smell great soon!

Oh yeah, I finished my olympic knitting, so I got a Gold Medal. Here it is, thanks to Franklin Habit and Yarn Harlot.
