Someone Else's Knitting

So, someone else in the house has picked up needles and is rushing to make presents this month. She got the idea because a friend of hers is always cold and she thought a scarf would be a nice gift. Then she saw this hat in the yarn shop and decided to add it to the present. The yarn is Plymouth Yarn's Baby Alpaca grande tweed and it's ever so squishy and soft. The hat is Chunky Cabled Beanie by Stitch Cafe and it's a quick and easy knit. (The pattern used to be available free, but none of the links on the website work anymore.) The scarf is just a simple 4 x 4 ribbing which folds on itself making a very thick, very soft, very squooshy and nice scarf.
The girl has been wearing the hat ever since it came off her needles. She likes it so much, in fact, that she had me take her back to the yarn shop to buy more of the yarn in another color. Now she's making another hat, in a pink color, for herself.
(Actually, she's finished it now.)
