This is way past due . . .

Today I finally put the handles on my Grazing Sheep bag.  The bag was completed in November of 2008 but sat languishing because I didn't like the felted handles I made.  I had the handles pinned into the bag, but never liked them enough to sew them in.  So, in April of last year (or maybe it was the year before) , I bought some leather handles at Stitches South.  I brought them home and put them in the bag and there they have sat since then.  Last week, when I moved everything I saw them again and thought "What a waste!"  So, this afternoon, while on Skype with Dena, I sewed the darn things onto the bag.  It's lovely!

And then I stuffed it with sock yarn and my Eclectic Sole book and went off to sit in the car (with the dog) and knit and wait for the Divine Miss M to come out of rehearsal.  The bag is great.  Unfortunately the purple sock yarn had some bad spots and I lost a bunch of it - but there is enough left to make anklets and that's what the Divine Miss M prefers, so that just became her yarn.

  2. You can be proud of yourself! Another project finished! And the result is great. Doesn't that give a lot of satisfaction too: finishing something that has been waiting for such a long time and turn out so well?? What more do you have on your "to-finish" list??
And you know where you can find nice handles: the dumpstore! Look for old bags and you'll be amazed what a nice handles there are available for almost nothing... (oh, now you know, that's so me, the Dutch girl..)
